Luckily for her, Allie has an actual, legitimate medical excuse for not talking to Miles about That Thing for at least a day, like the fact that she's barely conscious for most of them. She still feels kind of sick and exhausted, but better. The police told her there's not much they can do to find out who slipped a drug in her meal, but the Order's working on it.

In the meantime, Jen's basically redecorated her hospital room with more comfortable blankets and pillows and something like a hundred bouquets of flowers, having dragged along a few of her knights as muscle for setting things up. It takes an hour before Jen finally decides she's settled in enough to leave her alone, and even then, she knows that there's a few more Order members than usual keeping an eye on her hospital room.

She has a conversation to deal with, though, and she hugs her legs to her chest when Miles approaches. "Hey."

"Why do you think I text you back so fast?" he asked, a little wry. Miles couldn't remember that time. Not clearly, at least. So asking him to remember that far back to if he saw Allie before, that was really stretching it. "Kay, go on."

"Um, so we talked for a while. I told him some of what's going on, and he suggested that maybe I was too stressed out, pretty much. Oh, and apparently I used to go to him for advice on how to, um, 'woo' Guinevere."

Which is still kind of hilarious, okay.

That part, he sort of remembers. "Great, so I gave you the birds and bees talk, medieval style. Just great. Great." Miles rubbed his temples a little. "So, what. You two had girl chat or something? That's cool. Not like I'm around or anything."

...is Miles getting jealous of Merlin now?

"It's not like I did it on purpose," she says, with a touch of annoyance. "And you hate 'girl chats'."

"Trying to figure out how you got to the kissing the other me. Not following so far. As far as I know, you ugys braided each other's hair or something," Miles replied easily.

"I just... did? It seemed like a good idea at the time."

And she's blushing again. Great.

"And nothing else happened?" He asked, a little dubious about all of this.

She's doing that thing again. The one where she looks like she's trying to hide under the covers or melt into the bed or something. "Not exactly."

[emrysambrosius]

He sighed. "Allie. I don't need to know the dirty details just...cliff notes would be good."

She clears her throat.

"Ikindofsleptwithhim."

[emrysambrosius]

He sat in shock.

"You. What?"

[rexque_futurus]

"Yeah."

Never before had she wanted to just fall off the face of the earth as much as now. It's not like she was never going to tell him, because that would be a serious omission. But.

(A part of her is terrified this is going to screw up the relationship they have in the here-and-now, but part of her also isn't sorry.)

What kind of clutter were they stuck in now? How was this going to effect things?

"Okay...so you guys--and you're sure it's Merlin not me, right? Does this mean you want to...?"

Okay. She is so not prepared to answer that question. Mostly because she still feels confused and tangled about it, and partly because she's pretty sure the answer is yes.

She hugs her knees closer.

He sighed before sitting on the bed with her and hugging her. At the very least, he could be her friend.

"We'll figure it out. We always do, right?"

She rests her head on his shoulder. "Yeah."

"Are you sure it was me? Because I remember an old dude when we were doing the kingdom thing," he quipped.

"Who else would it have been?"

He gave a shrug of his shoulders.

"Maybe it's like Star Trek. Different universes. Are you sure this guy is nice?"

And she is somewhat offended past!Merlin's behalf. Harsh, Miles. Harsh.

"Seriously? That's how much you trust my judgement?"

He gave her an extra squeeze. "Could've been an incubus or something."

[rexque_futurus]

"You really think I can't tell the difference between you and an incubus? I mean, I don't have experience with them, but hello? Destiny thing?"

Okay, now she's kind of offended on her own behalf.

"You said it wasn't me like me now."

And he heard that incubi could trick even the most normal people. What she said kind of got him thinking though: was it his destiny to be with Allie like that?
